HORST BARTNIG

Horst Bartnig (*1936 in Militsch/Silesia) studied at the Fachschule für angewandte Kunst in Magdeburg. He received various national und international Awards like the Hannah-Höch-Prize of the Berlinische Galerie in 2001.

Since the mid 1960s he works with the clear instruments of Concrete Art: intense colors and simple, geometrical shapes are key components of his work. Horst Bartnig is one of the most important representatives of concrete art in Germany today.

Horst Barting lives in Berlin.
