Lorna Mills, Scrap: Terry #25

DAM has been selling software art, GIF files, animations and similar digital formats for over 20 years, but with an analog certificate. NFTs, with their digital certificate, allow for direct marketing by the artists. In the future, DAM will regularly present NFTs that we find interesting. If you are interested, you will be redirected to the artist’s page and can purchase the artwork directly.
We are not involved in the sale, but see this as an action to support the artist.

Scrap: Terry #25
800×600, 8 frames, 10fps
Edition of 10

“Scrap is an ongoing series of animated gifs comprised of scanned textiles that have been distorted and animated with bezier curves to create a visual percussion. Some are simple punctuated beats, others are more complex combined rhythms that push pattern recognition close to a breaking point. The jagged tempo parses the gaps that exist between physical textile and virtual image object in ten frames per second. This frenetic energy between data points creates palpable tension in the work, pointing to the obscure complexity bubbling under the surface of our digital images.” (text by organicmaterial.net)
